Well, I'm enjoying the plains as a nice change from the mountains. I've learned a couple things: you can go really far in one day and if the wind is against you it can be brutal. I had to cut my trip 30 miles short yesterday, because of the wind. So far, it looks like today might be a similar situation. Appearantly, the wind does not always blow east in Kansas. The good news is that I had a malt yesterday. It was tasty, but I believe I prefer milkshakes.

Sounds like you are enjoying the small things in like (a good bike pump, malts, wind blowing east... I hope you'll take the day off tomorrow or soon. Take care, stay safe... Aunt Vicki

Just looked at you on the satellite map. Looks like you're traveling in a populated area (watch out for that big truck!) so I'm hoping you found a good place to sleep last night. I know you're hitting some killer temperatures. Be sure to stay hydrated and find some water hoses to soak yourself down in. Tell the truth - just between you and me - are you swimming in any pools under the cover of darkness? Aunt Vicki

Hi Andrew! This is Grandma French. Sure hope it's cooler when you get to KY. We're having ninety plus weather with a heat index over 100 degrees. You'll probably enjoy a dip in the pool when you get here. We're looking forward to seeing you. Pedal carefully and we'll be seeing you soon. Vicki and Bob got a new laptop so hope I can get this to go through. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks! Love Grandma.
